[Prototype] Wire Jewelry Malaysia – Silver WAU-Hoop Earrings, Version Three

Presenting Version three of Silver WAU-hoop earrings. Sorry for the delay, I have been down with cold and have been coughing my lung out for almost 6 days now, went for X-ray (yes you heard me right) and doctor said there are white dots around my lung, I saw the film too, it looks like a spider net, friend said it’s shows that my lung is infected, but good thing is doctor confirmed that there isn’t any abnormal growth. All these were due to the poor quality of air I am breathing in recently, lots of family members and friends fell ill due to our dear neighbor Indonesia burn their forest yet again – and if you don’t already know, this had been their yearly activity that had never failed to happen, usually it happens in mid of the year, although this year they had delayed it, but now we are still blanketed by smog from forests fire in Indonesia, Singapore didn’t escape this time.

Well back to WAU-Hoop Earrings version three, customer confirmed on this design (as I have expected), and I am going to break my silver to construct it as soon as I recover from my cough.

I have used 20ga, 18ga, 28ga and 30ga wires for this creation. Hope you enjoy viewing!

Erin is back!

I have blogged about Erin's latest pieces in my Chinese blog, titled 银丝焊接 RAU 吊坠 just awhile ago, and had been hearing totally positive feedback!

The pendant measure 4.9cm tall and 2,2cn wide. According to Erin, the swirly pendant was her first try at filigree soldering and it was tricky. It's sterling and it will be up for sale in the Science & Poetry shop eventually. It was Maori inspired. Convo her if you think it should be yours! :)

Wire Jewelry Malaysia - Handmade Grape Hollowed Out Chandelier Earrings

It's Christmas and I thought I'd make something more... erm, happening? Hehe. How have you been, dear readers? I know I haven't been posting, work had been crazy and it's been a long time since I've ever wanted a holiday get away so badly, good thing is the holiday is approaching, and then I will be out of country this month and next month. :) Can't wait.

Before I begin to talk more about my new pair of earrings, there's some confession to make. With the new technologies and gadgets (well, if you haven't know I am quite a gadget freak) I have been devoting my time on iPhone and iPad, those stuff are addictive and, sorta productive, my problem is when I can do more with those tools I would, and hence I am constantly hooked and thus - I haven't been able to sit down to execute any of my new designs though they are piling. Don't worry, I will get over iPhone and iPad soon, as long as they don't come up with new generation or whatnots. :P

So here, the new pair of earrings photos to be added to my Handmade Wire Jewelry Gallery - Handmade Grape Hollowed Out Chandelier Earrings. Inspired by a pair of earrings I've ran into while doing window shopping, which, have a soldered-wires' backbone, I've made mine with purely wires without soldering (okay okay, it's me, I don't know how to solder, YET! :P), thank you anonymous for inspiration! All I can say is - the design is not hard to make, just tedious.

Earrings measure 7cm tall and 3cm at it's widest measure, weighing 10.6gram. Silver wires adorned with silver round beads and round garnets.

It's Valentine's soon and hence I decided to work out the tutorial for the season, something romantic, something to do with grapes and wine. Design was first finalized in December 2010:

 It's spring soon, I know because us Chinese will be celebrating Chinese New Year this Thursday! And here it is - I am proud to present my new Step By Step Wire Jewelry Tutorial, filed under Project Base series, the Grapes Chandelier Earrings Tutorial. The eBook will show you the detailed step by step to reproduce what you see from it's cover, and with what you have learned you could go ahead to rearrange the components to make various size of chandelier earrings or even, reinvent to create chandelier in various patterns, it's going to be fun. :)

Check it out soon though, the earrings are not hard to make, the instructions are composed with high resolution's pictures, but it is tedious - to set your expectation, I say allocate 5-6 hours to create one side of it, so please hurry up so you have enough time to learn and make something interesting!
